The Lookout
This charming spacious, rustic turf roofed woodland lodge merges into the trees overlooking a little rushing brook in the beautiful Towy Valley just a mile from Llandeilo, West Wales. It is fully equipped for 2 people with it's own private kitchen and walk in shower room (all wheelchair accessible)
The Lookout
A unique and spacious lodge with it's own kitchen and bathroom alongside. Wherever possdible The Lookout, the is made from reclaimed materials. The roof is a one off, planted with plants which grow naturally in the surrounding woods. It took 3 years to propogate enough to cover the whole roof.
Rustic meets Country House
Inside the Lookout, As much as possible we used reclaimed materials to build and furnish this lodge creating a spacious, comfortable and completely original holiday home.
The Lookout Bedroom
The bed can be made up as a super king sized double, or as 2 singles. We provide fresh bedlinen, duvet, blankets and pillows. We also supply one bath and one hand towel per person.
Private deck overlooks the River
With a door from the lodge and level access this is a lovely private sunny spot to read or to watch the river
The Lookout parking
You can park right next to The Lookout, with smooth paved access through the gate to the lodge, kitchen and shower building and decks
The Lookout Bedroom
Peaceful and cosy for a lazy lie-in. There's plenty of room to spread out and to get about in a wheelchair
Chandeliers!
Bonkers! who would put chandeliers in a wooden lodge? But what a lovely ambience.
All the main beams in the walls and roof were grown on Tregib property.

Reflects a little glimpse of the full sized forest mural on the curved back wall of the Lookout. Feels like you're stepping right into the surrounding woodland

All the surrounding paths are paved for ease of access and once the gate to the parking space is closed this space is completely private!

Listen to the rushing brook and watch out for kinfishers, dippers etc whilst you enjoy a leisurely lunch

The Lookout kitchen
Fully equipped with full sized gas cooker, microwave, fridge freezer kettle and plenty of pans, utensils, crockery & cutlery. We supply 2 clean tea towels

With a big dining table and 4 chairs right next to the kitchen, the perfect place to eat whatever the weather. There's also a woodburning outdoor stove!
The lookout living room
Views of the trees and river and an indoor dining table. Plenty of room to spread out and while away a peaceful evening. The Lookout has electric heating and a woodburning stove for those chill autumn mornings and evenings. We supply a tub of logs and more is available to buy.

This window came from John's grandfather's house.
The morning sun pours through, casting a mosaic of colour onto the bed.
The Lookout Shower room
Walk in shower with plenty of hot water, low level basin and a proper flushing loo for all the comfort of home and wheelchair accessibilty as well. All our units have their own spotlessly clean kitchen and bathroom facilities - no sharing!

Small squirrel on the deck
This little squirrel was carved by Nansi Hemming as are many of the wooden carvings and statues in Ty Cefn tregib's grounds. There is even an outdoor chessboard with chess pieces carved by Nansi

A place to sit and contemplate. Close the curtains, dim the lights for a perfect candlelit dinner for two

Looking up from the river
You can just see the Lookout and the kitchen verandah roof. There is a path down to the river and a woodland walk along the river bank.

Look through the arrow window for a view down across the walled garden of Ty Cefn Tregib to the Towy valley with Llandeilo on the hill opposite

This is your first view as you drive over our lovely old stone bridge into the grounds of Ty Cefn Tregib and on up the drive to The Lookout

  • Book a full week (starting on a Monday or Friday) for £570 to £670.
  • Part weeks Mon to Fri (4 nights) or Fri to Mon (3 nights) are £310 to £360
  • Check in after 5 pm check out by 10 am
  • Gas is provided for cooking and hot water
  • There are electric lights and power points throughout
  • Please note there is no TV but there is free wi-fi
  • Woodburner and barbecue. A basket of logs per booking period is supplied - more can be bought from owners.
  • Bedding, linen, 3 towels per person and tea towels are supplied (please bring your own beach towels)
  • Sorry no pets.
  • Non smokers only please.
  • Wheelchair accessible throughout
