Come Inside
Built of big fat bamboo poles and lined with calico, Waterfall Yurt was designed and built here at Tregib . There is not another one like it. The little woodburner keeps it cosy on those chilly autumn evenings. we supply a barrow of logs and you can buy more if you need to.
In the Yurt
Furnished for comfort and decorated with authentic Japanese door hangings. The walls and roof have lots of insulation to keep out the cold. A little table and 2 chairs, the perfect spot for a candlelit dinner. You can also eat out on the deck or on the veranda of the pavillion
"Pagoda" roof lantern
The roof lantern atop the yurt with the chimney terminating in a spike topped cowl. Letting in the light and letting out the smoke.
Roof lantern - looking up
Lie in bed and look at the stars or the blue sky through the many windows of the lantern. All hand painted and supported by a giant pair of bamboo poles.
Authentic Japanese door hangings.
The simple bamboo and calico interior of Waterfall Yurt is hung with these witty textile door hangings from Japan We call this one "Jolly boating gods"
Comfortable and spacious
A comfy sofa infront of the log burner. A perfect place to curl up with a good book or plan your day's activities. You can find out more about Tregib and the local activities and attractions at our "Explore Tregib and the area" page
Roofs and dragon
Look across the roof of the kitchen pavillion to the adjacent yurt. Once you have come through the gate from the parking space you are in your own little world.
Japanese Garden
Standing in it's own tranquil Japanese inspired garden, a deck overlooks the rushing brook and waterfall, and tucked very privately in a sheltered corner is the outdoor roll-topped "bushbath" for a hot bath under the stars- romantic!
Down by the riverside
A flight of steps down to the brook. You can go for a plunge in the little pool at the bottom of the waterfall. Not enough room for a swim but perfect for splashing about on a hot afternoon.
Dragons and roosters
An oriental dragon in the Land of the Red Dragon!
The textile hangings in the yurt all depict Japanese legends.
We have several dragons and various other animal sculptures in the extensive grounds of Tregib, but this is the only rooster!
Shower Room
A great shower with as much hot water as you want, washbasin and "separet" loo. You won't have to share this with anyone else and it's spotlessly clean as well.
Follow the link below for more info on "separet" loos.
Waterfall yurt Kitchen
Compact kitchen has full sized gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, sink unit with H&C water. We supply pots & pans, crockery, cutlery etc.. and clean tea towels. You won't have to share with anyone else and it's spotlessly clean.
Little Waterfall
Down below the deck our little waterfall fills a rocky pool, just deep enough for a bracing wild dip on a hot day. Ty Cefn Tregib (the homestead on the Cib) gets it's name from this little river the "Cib"
Waterfall Buddah
Our little Buddah sits on an old tree stump beside the contemplation deck overlooking the waterfall. Listen to the rushing water and watch out for the odd kingfisher or dipper as you sit and read, or enjoy an evening glass of wine.
